As they watched the crowds of people leaving, pointing, gasping, whispering, and not even giving them a second glance, or a moment to explain, Uchiki lay on his hikari's legs, emotionally numb. It was merely seonds later that Urahara noticed a lone figure still by them, smiling.
" . . . "
"Hi, I'm Helen. I don't know why all those people went away just because you said you were snake-humans, but . . . if you want, I'll be your friend." As he looked at her hand outstretched in friendship, he hesitated.
" . . . You don't care about what we are?"
"Why should I?" she shrugged, "I just care about who you are."
" . . . Hi, Helen. I'm Urahara."
-------------------------------------
"Urahara . . . Urahara . . . URAHARA!" He snapped back to attention, to his friend. "I asked you why you and Helen are friends, if you don't actually seem to like her all that much."
"Because . . . sometimes the more ignorant ones are better than those that observe everything."
. . . YAAAAAAAY! IT'S DONE! :333333
Right. So. There's this thing I do called 'HORP' which is a HPRP (Harry Potter Role Play) and it's called HORP because I typoed it once and it was funny. I do this with CP and Kat, and also a separate one with Daricio.
This is about Daricio's. My charas, Urahara and Uchiki are snake-humans, and their past concerning this is unhappy. When people first found out about this, they were . . . less than accepting. 'Cept Helen. 'Cause she's an ignoramous. No rly.
She's supposed to be loosely based on me (hence the yellow and black colours signifying Hufflepuff), but I'm not QUITE as stupid. In the present RP, one of Daricio's charas asked why Urahara was friends with Helen, as he's always so chidingly sarcastic to her (not that she notices), and then he flashbacks. Into this.
The background people are the ones that don't like Urahara and Uchiki. I tried to make them really diverse and stuff. If you look carefully, the guy on the left side is black. Woo. And the only child is the girl with the bear. And yes, I purposely made them turned around. They do not wish to look at Urahara and Uchiki. It's symbolic.
Speaking of symbolism, their clothing. Helen's; black and yellow, Hufflepuff colours. Uchiki's clothes are a darker shade of Urahara's, because he's his yami (darkness), and he's in a dark place right now.
What I like: I GOT BETTER AT HANDS! :3 And this pic took over my brain. I couldn't do anything else until I sketched it. I've also never sketched out Helen before, so I think I did pretty well. I drew the snake-boiyz' hair the best I've done it, here. Which is fun. I like the little girl with the bear in the bg. She's cyute. Um, yay grass? OH! And the eyes are nearly exactly how they need to look. ^_^ VERY happy with them.
What I don't: Helen's outstretched hand is at the wrong angle. And those darker lines on her chest were attempts at shading, and then I was all 'O_O OH NOEZ!' and attempted (and failed) at covering them up. The sky hurt my hands. So very much. And I didn't do any shading or folds. Cause I didn't feel like it. So nyeh.
Oooh! Awesome picture! I'm assuming this isn't at Hogwarts. *pokes the mom and little kid* I really like Uchiki's head and right arm, dunno why. *steals them and runs away* As for the out stretch arm, if you had put a crease where her elbow joint (XD?) is and perhaps a line in her hand then it would've come out a little better, but yeah, it does look awkward. *notices something* Oooh! I like Uchiki's shoes too! *steals them*
^_^ Thankies! And no, it's not. u.u Pre-Hogwarts. When they first met.
Mom and little kid: *are poked . . . keep walking away*
THANKS! Heh, his right arm? Yeah, the hand came out goo- OH NOEZ!!! HE IS WITHOUT HEAD AND RIGHT ARM!
And yeah, no, definitely if the arm was higher up it'd look better. By the time I realized what to do, I'd already inked it.
AND HE IZ WITHOUT SHOOZ NOW ZOMG.
. . . !!!!!!!! See? You two should totally be together! u.u You've stolen him . . . *It's ten o' clock, do you know where your children are?* o.o . . . NOW I DON'T!

For some reason, I am now obsessed with the phrase "snake-humans." I want to be one, darn it!
Anyway, the title of this picture reminded me of how much I've been wanting to do some artwork mocking Jhonen Vasquez and his zombie-like legion of eerily devoted fans.

Well, I'm obsessed with them as OCs currently now, so I guess we're in the same boa- You wanna be one? Well, they were snakes turned into humans, so, if you could manage to be turned into a snake in order to be turned into a human . . .
Hee. ^^ And that sentence just reminded me of that commentary on the first episode, the rant that Jhonen did about Original Characters as invaders. Yay for inspiration?

XD yay for being an inspiration for drawing stuff.
I think it was Malik who asked that question, but I don't remember... *ponders*
For some reason, I always imagined like... lots of streaks of darker green in their hair, like how I CG'd that icon thing-y. ........ The two streaks going back looks cool, though. XD
... and, uh... yeah, Helen's arm is having issues. XD I like how Urahara and Uchiki in general came out, though. Poses like that are hard to do. @_@ *is tempted to attempt drawing this same scene to see if she can do even half as good on those poses*

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
